Surgery

Our well-equipped surgery suite allows us to offer a wide variety of surgical procedures.  All surgery patients are monitored with cardiac and respiratory monitors and receive fluid and heat support. We use state-of-the-art anesthetics and pain medication, tailored to your pet’s particular needs.  Screening bloodwork is performed before any surgery to be sure your pet is healthy enough to undergo surgery.

Orthopedic Surgery

TPLO (Tibal Plateau Leveling Osteotomy)

A TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) is a surgical procedure used to treat cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injuries in dogs. It involves reshaping the top of the tibia (shinbone) to stabilize the knee joint without relying on the damaged ligament. This procedure helps reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function in dogs with CCL tears.

FHO (Femoral Head Osteotomy)

An FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck of the femur (thigh bone) to relieve pain from hip conditions such as severe arthritis, fractures, or hip dysplasia. By eliminating the bone-on-bone contact in the hip joint, an FHO allows a false joint to form, improving comfort and mobility—especially in small to medium-sized pets.

Luxating Patella Repair

Luxating patella repair is a surgical procedure to correct a kneecap (patella) that slips out of place, a condition common in small dog breeds. The surgery involves realigning the patella and deepening the groove it sits in to keep it stable. This helps reduce pain, prevent further joint damage, and improve your pet’s mobility and quality of life.

Soft Tissue Surgery

From lumps and bumps that need removal, wounds that need suturing, and major abdominal surgeries for emergencies including dystocia (birthing problems), intestinal obstruction or bladder stones, we can tackle an array of surgical situations.
